Cincinnati Emergency Cleaning Service, When A Cell Phone Gets Wet
Cellular telephones are an amazing evolution. They allow us to continue to be linked to the world around us at any second, mostly wherever we go. We have our cellular telephones anywhere we go, even to the beach, pool, or into the bathroom. There is a strong possibility that a cellular telephone will undergo water damage. How many times do you hear of those who have accidentally dropped their phone into the sink or toilet? The basic insurance that comes with your cell phone will insure a few things that could go wrong with it but most probably won't protect you from water damage. Don't bother to try to deceive the cell company by saying that the phone has undergone some form of damage because they will be able to see at once that the mobile phone has water damage.
If you drop your cell phone into a puddle of water don't get nervous. It is distressing to imagine that you may lose all the numbers you have in the memory , but take a breath and you'll see that all may not be gone. You may be able to fix the water damaged cell telephone yourself. It is essential to get the telephone out of the water as rapidly as possible. If you can't get the telephone in a few seconds, it is most advisable to take the battery power from the telephone under the water. This takes away any heat from a short in the cell telephone, not allowing additional harm. The most terrible damage is inflicted when a wet cellular telephone is connected to a power source so remove the battery power immediately. Remove the SIM card from the water damaged telephone if it has one, dry it, and set it aside.
Now you are ready to dry the cellular telephone. Take off any covers that you can so that air can touch the inner part of the telephone and gently agitate it to take away as much water as you can. Use a vac with a hose connected to withdraw the water out of the phone. Keep the vacuum hose from the cell phone to put a stop to the buildup of static electricity which can heighten the damage the pieces in the phone. Store your telephone for at least twelve hours in a container of uncooked rice. This will soak up any outstanding wetness from the phone.
In the morning set the cell telephone on a paper towel for several hours. Look at it once more to see if there are any signs of moisture. If there is any wetness do the total process once more. After the mobile phone is completely dry and appears to be spotless inside reattach the battery and turn it on. If the phone is still not working take the battery out again and plug the cell phone into the charger. If the telephone works now you know that the battery is ruined and will have to be purchased again. If the telephone still doesn't function you can bring it to be serviced. If it is not salvageable then you have no choice but to do without a cell telephone or get a new one.
